For my first post of 2012, I wanted to write about something near and dear to my heart. The first thing I thought of was God, but I doubt anyone wants to hear me pander on about religion. Secondly, I thought of family, but how many times can I elaborate on how much I love my wife until readers are just bored to tears. Fitness is also a strong point for me, but probably not something that I'm brushed up on enough to speak intelligently on. So what better topic than my favorite past time and art form...Movies!
As you all may have noticed, a little over a year ago I posted "Matt Gooch's Top 100 Films of All Time". Well, 2011 has come and gone, and with it, a full year's worth of movies.
Now, I'll be honest, there were not a great deal of movies that came out this past year that are worthy of my Top 100 list, but there were a couple greats (anybody see 'Warrior'? Badass!). Also, a few films will have shifted up or down the list as they either gained or lost favor in my eyes, so I will notate each film's movement for the past year. So, here it is! Enjoy. So the film with the biggest jump up was Warrior, which was previously unranked and is now #5. And the movie that dropped off the most was Passion of the Christ, falling from #46 to being unranked.
